Frequently Asked Questions
1.
Question: Why are Extreme Form Racks a better solution to hauling
my ATV than other racks on the market?
Answer: Design & Price.
Design! Both Extreme Form Racks use an angled linear design
that places the ATV’s front tires on a platform at bed
rail level and the rear tires in the bottom of the truck bed
which allows approximately three-quarters of the ATV’s
weight to remain at a low center of gravity. This unique design
is very important when traversing uneven terrain. The Extreme
form racks are simple and easy to use. They are light weight
– just 46 lbs for the EFR-1 and 78 lbs for the EFR-2.
Price! Designed and created by an outdoorsman – the Extreme
Form Racks were intended to be affordable for nearly every budget.
Unlike some racks which can cost more than a thousand dollars,
Extreme Form Racks are priced right for the value-conscious
sportsman. Of course the multi-purpose design which protects
your truck from damage, the simplicity & ease of use which
gets you loaded and on the road quickly, are all part of the
Extreme Form Racks appeal. As well as the fact that our racks
place the ATV about six to ten inches further into the truck
bed (depending on the design of the ATV). This means that most
ATV owners can close the tailgate on their truck - this is added
security and peace of mind!
2. Question: Why would I need an Extreme Form Rack?
Answer: There are three main reasons:
1. If you have ever broken
out the window in your truck trying to fit your ATV into the
bed of your truck – you need this rack!
2. If you managed
to fit your ATV into the truck bed safely. Did you have any
room for gas cans, coolers, chairs, water cans, plus a tent,
sleeping bags, etc.? If you say “No!” –
then you need this rack!
3. If you wanted to take all this stuff, AND close the tail
gate of your truck – you need this rack!
3. Question:
Which model rack would I need?
Answer:
The EFR-1 (Extreme Form Rack Original Model) is designed to
carry one four wheel ATV or one or two motorcycles. The EFR-1
is attached to the front of the truck bed using a protective
bed rail bar (included with the rack) and is secured using a
tension bolt. The EFR-1 can also be used in a trailer –
as long as the trailer has fixed rails on the front or sides
of the box. The EFR-1 is attached to either the front or side
rails of the trailer and enables the user to take advantage
of the extra cargo space available under the rack. When used
in a trailer application the EFR-1 can be used to haul a Side-by-Side
ATV (i.e. Rhino, Gator, etc.). The ramps can be removed by undoing
the tension bolts which secure the ramps to the protective rail.
The EFR-2 (Extreme Form Rack Side-by-Side Carrier) is a platform
design and is mounted to both side rails of the truck bed much
like a tool box. The EFR-2 is capable of carrying a Side-by-Side
vehicle such as a Rhino, Razor, etc. or an ATV, or one or two
motorcycles. Like the EFR-1, the EFR-2 ramps can be removed
when not hauling an ATV, motorcycle(s) or Side-by-Side and is
useful as an in-bed shelf for other cargo applications.
4. Question:
Will this rack fit my truck?
Answer:
You bet! The EFR-1 fits over the front bed rail. On some truck
models if your rear window sticks out too far (close to the
front bed rail); then the EFR-1 would not work for you. In this
case, the EFR-2 model would be the answer. The EFR-2 adjusts
from four feet wide to eight feet wide, and will fit any truck
with side rails.
